SAMUEL THAYER
Samuel Thayer researches and teaches about edible wild plants, sustainable food systems, and the ecology of food. He is the author of four award-winning books: The Forager's Harvest, Nature's Garden, Incredible Wild Edibles, and Sam Thayer's Field Guide to Edible Wild Plants of Eastern and Central North America. Samuel owns a diverse organic orchard where he grows hickory nuts and numerous other native food plants. For more than two decades he has worked to revive the manufacture of yellowbud hickory oil.
